GALESBURG, Ill. — Buildings are being evacuated in Galesburg after crews detected a gas leak.
The leak was found near the intersection of Sumner Street and Matthews Street. Buildings within a one-block radius of the intersection are being evacuated, and barricades blocking traffic will be in place until crews finish dealing with the leak.
Residents are asked to avoid the area until the gas leak is resolved, which officials said may continue into the evening hours.
