MOLINE, Ill. — Blue Grass Elementary School is one of Iowa's best elementary schools, according to U.S. News and World Report rankings.
The rankings are based on student scores in reading and math, along with state testing scores and socioeconomic information. Blue Grass Elementary was in the top 15% of all Iowa public elementary schools.
“We are excited to see Blue Grass Elementary school represented in these rankings,” said TJ Schneckloth, Superintendent of Davenport Community School District. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students at Blue Grass and across our entire district.”
Students and staff celebrated the achievement together with QC Storm hockey players during an all-school assembly. During the assembly, it was announced that students would soon be awarded with a school-wide trip to a Storm game.
“We are grateful to have our school recognized as one of the best elementary schools in the state of Iowa,” said Sara Gott, Blue Grass Elementary School Principal. “It takes sustained teamwork to serve our students well, and this recognition reflects our school’s commitment to ensuring all of our students reach their full potential.”
