GALVA, Ill. — Editor's note: The video above aired on Monday, Feb. 5, when News 8 spoke with officials at Monmouth College about the impact FAFSA delays were having on students.
College students in need of some extra help filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid can get that assistance close to home, thanks to free sessions offered by Black Hawk College's financial aid office.
The first session will be on Monday, Feb. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Black Hawk College's East Campus, located at 26230 Black Hawk Road in Galva. The second will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Quad Cities Campus, located at 6600 34th Ave. in Moline.
Anyone wanting to participate in a session must register for a slot in advance. The registration form can be found here. If none of the in-person dates work, students may also use that form to request a virtual appointment, as well.
Here's a list of what students and parent contributors will need to bring to the help session:
- Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID

- 2022 federal tax documents
