MOLINE, Ill. — The Arc of the Quad Cities Area will host its fall Parent Learning Series on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The free event is for parents or caregivers of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It will explore financial and legal tools to help families. The Arc says understanding specialized financial, civil and legal tools is crucial because when effectively implemented, it can help turn anxiety into proactive steps.
The keynote speaker is Sara Hart Weir who led the passage of the ABLE Act in 2014. Other presenters are from Protected Tomorrows, Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters and Lane & Waterman LLP.
The learning series is on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 4:15-8 p.m. at Black Hawk College Building 1 in Moline. To register, email gadients@arcqca.org, or you can register online at The Arc's website here.
