Heart of Hope Ministries opens its new Community Resource Center

Rock Island's Heart of Hope Ministries has cut the ribbon on its new community resource center.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — On Friday, Aug. 9, Heart of Hope Ministries held a grand opening for its new facility, which marks its third resource center.

Located at 900 18th Ave. in Rock Island, it was founded in partnership with the Better Health Foundation, Community Health Care and Augustana College.

Heart of Hope works to revitalize Rock Island neighborhoods, and since 2014, their food pantry has provided food to over 75,000 people in the Quad Cities.

“We envision a place where someone in need can come to find the information needed to help improve their lives," Heart of Hope Ministries Founder and President Lynda Sargent said in a press release announcing the opening.
