DAVENPORT, Iowa — Community members around the Quad Cities will be able to enjoy live music in Davenport all summer long during the Big 9 Summer Concert Series.
The City of Davenport is partnering with the Riverfront Improvement Commission and Common Chord for the new Big 9 Summer Concert Series. The new series will replace the previous "Music on The River" series. As the name implies, there will be nine concerts throughout the series, and they'll be held at different locations along Davenport's nine miles of riverfront. The first will kick off on Memorial Day weekend, and performances will be held periodically through the end of August.
"This new programming model allows for the opportunity to showcase many of our local artists, as well as small business, while also shining a light on different areas of our beautiful riverfront," Riverfront Community Engagement Coordinator Stephanie Bley said in a press release. "By expanding our programming, we hope to reach a wider demographic of Davenport residents. There is truly something for everyone."
