Crawford Brew Works, Scouting America holding first annual Pintwood Derby

It's a chance for adults 21 and over to relieve some childhood fun by racing their derby cars and enjoying a drink during the competition.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — Take a step back in time to your childhood when Crawford Brew Works hosts its first ever Pintwood Derby.

In partnership with Scouting America's IlIowa Council, the Bettendorf brewery is holding the event on Thursday, July 25. While plenty of former scouts might remember pinewood derby races from their younger years, this tournament is only for the grown-ups; you have to be 21 years old or above in order to participate.

Check-in on the night of the race begins at 5 p.m., with the first racers taking off at 6 p.m. Awards will be given out once all the races have concluded.

Registration is $50 and includes a derby car kit, entry into the race and a souvenir glass. The glass can be brought back to Crawford Brew Works any time throughout the rest of the year, and you'll receive $1 dollar off drinks while using it! You can get your ticket here

Car kits can be picked up from Illowa Council Service Center at 4412 N Brady St. in Davenport, or participants can have them shipped directly for an additional $5.

Tune into The Current from 4 to 5 p.m. on weekdays to catch live interviews impacting you, your family and your hometown as well as all of the biggest headlines of the day.
