ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — A missing Geneseo man was found dead after a single-vehicle crash in Rock Island County.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 2, the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a crash on the 30900 block of 38th Avenue North in Hillsdale. Investigators believe the car was driving westbound when it crossed over into oncoming traffic and then into a ditch before coming to a stop after colliding with a tree. The driver and lone occupant, 18-year-old Anthony Carr, was declared dead at the scene.
Carr had been missing since Aug. 28. Law enforcement officials did not release any information about what took place between Carr's disappearance and the fatal crash.
