WASHINGTON COUNTY, Iowa — Three people are dead after a Monday morning crash in Washington County, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.
Just before 9 a.m. on Dec. 2, a 2002 Buick was heading south on Iowa 1 near Washington when it tried to pass a snow plow. After crossing over the center line, the ISP report said the Buick hit a 2013 Nissan in the northbound lane.
Both drivers and a passenger in the Nissan were killed on impact, per ISP's report. Only one person of the three killed was wearing a seatbelt. A fourth person was taken to Iowa City for treatment.
ISP has not released the identities of the victims, pending family notification.
