Teenager hit by car while crossing Moline road

The juvenile's injuries aren't life-threatening, according to the Moline Police Department.

MOLINE, Ill. — Update: Shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday night, Moline police officials announced that the juvenile who was hospitalized in the crash has been released and sustained only minor injuries.

A 13-year-old boy was hit by a car in Moline and transported to a local hospital Friday afternoon, according to the Moline Police Department.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, Moline police responded to reports of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 1800 block of 48th Street Place. 

According to officers, a 13-year-old boy began running across the road between vehicles and crossed behind a Metrolink bus. After stepping out from behind the bus, the juvenile continued attempting to cross the road when he was struck by a Cadillac travelling northbound.

Police say the Cadillac's driver and several witnesses stopped immediately after the accident.

The juvenile was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

No one has been arrested or cited in the accident.
