1 person killed in crash in Muscatine

Two other people were also injured in the incident.

MUSCATINE, Iowa — One person is dead after a fatal crash in Muscatine on Friday night.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 in Muscatine. A 2024 Nissan Rogue was traveling south on Taylor Avenue when investigators said they failed to stop at a stop sign before entering Highway 61. A 2021 Dodge Durango was traveling south on the highway and was unable to stop in time, striking the Rogue.

One person was killed in the crash, and two other people were injured, with one being life-flighted to a nearby hospital. As of 10 p.m. on Friday night, no further information on the conditions of the injured people were available.

The names of the victims are being withheld while family members are notified.
