DAVENPORT, Iowa — A man is dead following a Wednesday afternoon crash in Davenport.
According to the Davenport Police Department, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1700 block of Bridge Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6. Investigators believe that a car was travelling north on Bridge Avenue when it crossed the center line and drove through a yard before crashing into an embankment.
The vehicle's driver, a 67-year-old man, was the only person in the vehicle when it crashed. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man's identity hasn't been released.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
