LE CLAIRE, Iowa — One person was hospitalized following an accident involving a car and train in LeClaire.
According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the crash in the 22900 block of Great River Road in LeClaire shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Investigators say that a blue 2021 Tesla was traveling westbound on a private drive and approaching Great River Road. When the driver was attempting to cross the tracks, a train collided with the Tesla, striking the rear of the vehicle's driver's side.
The Tesla's driver, a 68-year-old man who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was hospitalized with serious injuries, according to officers. His identity hasn't been released.
The crash is still under investigation.
