AINSWORTH, Iowa — An Iowa high schooler has died after a train vs. car collision in Washington County on Monday, Oct. 14.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, a Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on the 2400 block of Spruce Avenue in Ainsworth around 1:50 a.m. when it ran a stop sign at a railroad crossing. The car was struck by a westbound train at the railroad crossing before eventually coming to rest in a ditch.
Officials have identified the victim as 17-year-old Rowan Ross, of Washington. Officials continue to investigate the crash.
