ROCK ISLAND COUNTY, Ill. — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Illinois City early Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred at about 12:15 p.m. near the 15300 block of 322nd Street West, Illinois City, according to a Rock Island County Sheriff's Office news release.
One of the passengers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of that vehicle was transported to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Two occupants in the other vehicle were also transported to a local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Members of the Muscatine Police Department, the Illinois City Fire Department and the Rock Island County Coroner’s assisted the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office at the crash scene.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of kin. The investigation is ongoing.
