MOLINE, Ill. — The FDA has released an updated recipe for the vaccine to protect against new variants, similar to how flu vaccines are reformulated every year, and Moderna and Pfizer have begun distribution.
The FDA approved the new vaccine for anyone aged 6 months or older. It's recommended to maintain immunity and to protect those who can't receive the vaccine.
Locations distributing the updated COVID-19 vaccine can be found with the CDC's website, Vaccines.gov. Manufacturers list the price of the vaccine at $120 - $130, but officials say it will still be free to most Americans with private healthcare, Medicare or Medicaid.
Uninsured adults can still access the vaccine at no cost through the CDC's Bridge Access Program at participating locations.
