Where to see 4th of July fireworks

Check out all the fireworks displays and other events happening around the Quad Cities this Independence Day.

Coralville — The 4th Fest is at S.T. Morrison Park at 1513 7th Street.  The festival goes from July 1 – 4, and will include a 5k, entertainment, food a carnival, parade, and fireworks.  Fireworks will be on Monday, July 4. Click here for event details. 

Davenport — Red, White, and Boom starts at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3.  Two barges will shoot off fireworks from the Mississippi River.  Modern Woodmen Park will be open for viewing starting at 5 p.m.  The US Army STEM Experience will be open to the public. The futuristic, interactive computer generated scenario, will be stationed on Gaines St, just east of the park.  Scrap Metal Brass and Rude Punch will be performing.  LeClaire Park will also serve as a viewing area. East Moline — Fireworks will start at dusk on Sunday, July 3 at the East Moline Riverfront at the Quarter 7th Street.  There will be live music starting at 7 p.m. and a Color Guard. National Anthem will be presented at 9 p.m. and fireworks will start at dusk. There will be a bouncy house, children’s carnival tent and food/beverage vendors. Bring lawn chairs, but do not bring coolers. Event is free. Rain date is Tuesday, July 5 at dusk.

GalenaIndependence Day fireworks start at dusk on Monday, July 4.  Fireworks are launched from Grant Park and are visible all over the downtown.  The celebration starts that day at 8 a.m. with the Buckhill Run. It’s part of the celebration at Recreation Park. There will be bounce houses, face painting, arts/crafts, a grass volleyball tournament, 3-point shooting contest, a softball game, dunk tank, BINGO, and live music.  Parade starts at 6 p.m.

GalesburgBig Bang Boom on Monday, July 4 at Lake Storey Park. The event is free.

Galva — The Galva Freedom Fest has tons of activities all over town before fireworks start at dusk. Click here for detailed information. 

Grand MoundThe 4th of July Water Parade and Fireworks Show will be Monday, July 4 at dusk. The show will be at the ball park.

Matherville —  On the shores of Lake Matherville, fireworks will start at dusk on Sunday, July 3.  The event is put on by the Matherville Volunteer Fire Department.

Milan — Fireworks will begin at dusk at Camden Park on Sunday, July 3rd.  There will be activities going on there throughout the day, starting with the 4th annual Milan Fireworks Fund Run; the race ends with a wet slide down the hill. Click here to register.  Before the fireworks start, bounce houses and food vendors will be available.

Monticello — A celebration will be at 4 p.m. at Lodge Park and will include inflatables, games, live entertainment, food and fireworks.  It all happens Sunday, July 3. 

Mount Carroll — Fireworks will shoot during the Independence Day celebration at the Middle School Athletic Field at dusk on Monday, July 4.  There will also be a downtown parade, a band concert, and refreshments.

Muscatine — On Monday, July 4, starting with a Fourth of July parade, there will be a celebration offering children’s activities, musical entertainment, food, and a talent contest. It’s all happening on the banks of the Mississippi River and in Historic Downtown.  The day will end with a fireworks display over the Mississippi River.

Oquawka — A Fourth of July parade, themed “United States of Ameri-CANs” will be held on Saturday, July 2 at 10 a.m.  A fish and chicken fry will start at 11 a.m. and go until 3 p.m.  Fireworks will be Sunday, July 3. Click here for event details. 

Orion — On Sunday, July 3 there will be a lighted parade at dusk followed by fireworks at Orion High School.

Prophetstown — Fireworks will be shot off starting at dusk at Prophetstown State Park on Sunday, July 3. There will also be a 50/50 drawing at 9 p.m. as well as games, food and live music leading up to the fireworks.

Rock IslandRed, White, and Boom starts at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3.  Two barges will shoot off fireworks from the Mississippi River.  Schwiebert Park will be open for viewing and activities start at 3 p.m. There will be inflatables, food for purchase, an appearance by Disney Princesses from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m., and a performance by The Country Couch Potatoes.  Smooth Groove will perform to set the crowd up for the fireworks display. (Scroll to the bottom to see parking plans for Red White and Boom)

TiptonThe 4th of July Celebration will take place at Tipton City Park on Monday, July 4.  There will be a parade at 10 a.m., live music, face painting, a clown, crafts, and more. Fireworks will start at dusk.
