Mediacom customers looking for MyTV programming on channel 16 will instead find it on channel 3 starting Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
The switch was scheduled to happen sometime between midnight and 5 a.m.
Mediacom customers with digital TVs will still see MyTV on channel 8-3.
The switch is part of a larger channel lineup change that moves seven channels to new positions. C-SPAN moves from channel 2 to channel 96 and some HD viewers will see WGH-HD move from 117-2 to 89-2. Mediacom’s lineup in Maquoketa and Preston also includes Cedar Rapids-based KGAN, which will move to channel 2.
After the new channel alignment happens, Mediacom customers with cable connected directly to digital televisions are encouraged to re-scan those televisions so they recognize stations placed on previously-unused channels. Re-scanning is not necessary if you use a digital adapter or digital cable set-top box.
