MOLINE, Ill. — WQAD News 8 is partnering with United Way to help supply thousands of Quad Cities-area students with school supplies through the Write Start Project.
Formerly known as the First Day Project, the initiative aims to give kids the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. There are many ways to support the program.
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, WQAD News 8 is hosting a drop-off day at the front of our station at 3003 Park 16th St. in Moline. Stop by and help us pack up an entire school bus that will be out front.
United Way is hosting its supply drop-off event on Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20 at the JB Young Opportunity Center at 1702 N. Main St. in Davenport. The event is Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
