Carl Sandburg College accepted a $96,400 grant from the Illinois Board of Higher Education to support the growth of the college's nursing program.

The grant will help Sandburg purchase cameras and push-to-talk microphones for the nursing simulation lab in the upcoming Science & Technology Center, which will open for the 2024-2025 academic year. It will also cover the cost of the nursing evaluation exam NCLEX and other end-of-program fees.

This is the second year in a row the board has awarded a grant to Sandburg for its nursing program. The 2022 grant of $97,900 also contributed to the nursing simulation lab, funding equipment, supplies and instructor training.
