LYNDON, Ill. — A Lyndon man was arrested after allegedly drawing a firearm during a meeting with a sheriff's deputy.
According to the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office, officers conducted a field ID on a suspicious person on the 400 block of 2nd Ave. E in Lyndon shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 6. While the deputy was speaking with the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Ryan Poulter, officers claim Poulter pulled out a firearm from his waistband. The deputy then restrained Poulter, and he was taken into custody without injury.
Poulter faces the following charges:
- Possession of a stolen firearm
- Unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon
- Aggravated unlawful use of a weapon
- Violation of an order of protection
