Toledo man arrested for allegedly illegally selling fireworks from his garage

Toledo Fire & Rescue said further examination of the items revealed that many of the fireworks were commercial grade.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly illegally selling fireworks from the garage of his west Toledo home without a valid license.

According to Toledo Fire & Rescue, Edward DeLuna, 35, was taken into custody and charged with felony and misdemeanor crimes for illegally selling the fireworks.

TFRD said they conducted a search warrant in the 1900 block of Ketner Avenue after police received an anonymous tip and found a large amount of fireworks on the premises. Court documents allege that DeLuna was selling the items from his garage without a license from the state to do so.

According to Toledo fire, further examination of the items revealed that many of the fireworks were commercial grade. TFRD said the fireworks were seized and transported to a secure facility.

TFRD shared video of the fireworks at the location:

*** Media Release*** Today, the Toledo Police and Toledo Fire Joint Arson Unit conducted a search warrant in the 1900 block of Ketner for the illegal sale of fireworks. Upon execution of the warrant, a large amount of fireworks were located on the premises. Further examination of the items revealed that many of the fireworks were commercial grade. The fireworks were seized and transported to a secure facility. The suspect, Edward Deluna age 35, was taken into custody on scene and will be charged with both felony and misdemeanor crimes for illegally selling fireworks. #Toledofireandrescuedepartment #Toledopolicedepartment #YourCivilServants #Fireworks
