STERLING, Ill. — A Rock Falls man has been arrested in connection to a May shooting in Sterling that left a man seriously injured.
According to a Sterling Police Department news release, 24-year-old Daveon H. Lucas was arrested in Markham, Illinois, a Chicago suburb in southern Cook County. Lucas was wanted in connection to a May 28 shooting in the 2200 block of East Lincolnway. The shooting victim was transported to a regional hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Lucas has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. He will be transported to the Whiteside County Jail, according to the release.
