A blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit, and his alleged conduct while under the influence, has landed a North Liberty man in jail.
Police reportedly caught 29-year-old David Tallman urinating on a bookshelf in the North Liberty Public Library when officers were called there just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013. Tallman had also reportedly urinated on his pants and had trouble standing and walking.
Tallman’s blood-alcohol content was reportedly .338, which is more than four times the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle in Iowa.
Tallman was arrested and charged with misdemeanor public intoxication and with criminal mischief, also a misdemeanor. Jail records indicate Tallman was held in lieu of $5,000 bond for the intoxication charge and $2,500 bond for the criminal mischief charge.
Online court records show Tallman has multiple prior convictions for public intoxication.
Tallman allegedly caused an estimated $250 damage to the library.
