Shooting at NorthPark Mall: Teenager arrested in connection to shooting that injured 2

Davenport police said they have arrested a teenager in connection to a shooting at NorthPark Mall Monday afternoon that left the teen and another person wounded.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Davenport police said they have arrested a teenager in connection to a shooting at NorthPark Mall Monday afternoon that left the teen and another person wounded.

The shooting sent mall-goers running for safety just before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 22.  Police say the teenager and a second person exchanged shots inside the mall. 

The 16-year-old male from Rock Island was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, according to a police news release.

The second person also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting. 

The teenager was arrested and charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon and dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a felon. 

NorthPark Mall was closed for the remainder of the day following the shooting. It's back open to normal business hours on Tuesday.
