3 dead, 3 injured in shooting at Colorado Halloween party

Three people were killed and three other people were wounded in a shooting during a Halloween party early Friday morning in Colorado.

NORTHGLENN, Colo. — Three people were killed and three other people were wounded in a shooting early Friday morning at a home in Northglenn.

According to police, officers responded to a home near Belford Drive and Bruce Lane just after midnight for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived they found that multiple people who were at a large Halloween house party were struck by gunfire.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and five others were taken to the hospital. Two of those victims later died from their injuries, bringing the total number of people killed to three. The other three victims remain in the hospital with "varying" injuries, according to a Northglenn Police Department spokesman.

In an update Friday afternoon, police said they believe all those involved were known to each other and were attending the party, however, no arrests have been made.

Police said they're following up on leads in Northglenn and surrounding cities. Denver Police told 9NEWS they were assisting Northglenn Police with an investigation at a home at 2228 North Humboldt Street.

Jose Fidel Rosales rents the top floor of the home on Humboldt Street. He said he was woken up by police ordering him to come outside at 4:30 a.m. He said after they got out, police searched it.

He said he noticed a trail of blood leading from a vehicle to the first floor of the home.

"A truck, like that car, was parked right there by itself," said Fidel Rosales as he gestured to a location on the street. "And I'm assuming he ran inside and he was wounded. So he left a trail of blood directly to the first floor."

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification to family members. The identities will be released at a later time by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Detective Jackie Spresser at 303-450-8859.
