DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Muscatine man has been sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison for attempted enticement of a minor.
According to a press release from the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa, in December of 2022, 41-year-old Paul Kyle Quigley of Muscatine attempted to meet with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old girl on Facebook for sex. Court documents say that upon learning the age of the girl he believed he was messaging, Quigley made requests for sex over several days. Quigley also created a plan to meet with her to have sex and flee the state together.
Quigley was arrested on Feb. 22, 2023, in Burlington, just before arriving in his semi-truck at the established meeting place.
Quigley was a registered sex offender at the time of the crime. Upon his release from prison, Quigley will be required to serve 15 years of supervised release.
