ALEDO, Ill. — A Mercer County School Board member faces charges after being arrested at an Aledo restaurant, according to police.
Aledo Police Interim Chief Trevor Fisk told News 8 that officers responded to Happy Joe's on 3rd Avenue in Aledo just after 11:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a "fight in progress."
Talbert Balmer was arrested and charged with simple battery. The Mercer County State's Attorney later elevated the charge to aggravated battery, a felony.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 4.
