MERCER COUNTY, Ill. — A Mercer County man is in jail after being charged with drug-induced homicide.
According to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, deputies began investigating a suspicious death near Seaton in May. On Wednesday, July 24, officers arrested 42-year-old Dale Robert Woodsmall in connection to the death. Woodsmall has been charged with one count of drug-induced homicide and two counts of methamphetamine delivery.
Following a hearing on Thursday morning, a judge ordered Woodsmall to be detained through the duration of the case. According to court documents, a preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 5 at 9 a.m.
