LE CLAIRE, Iowa — An undercover investigation – launched after customer complaints – reveals what authorities are describing as a prostitution operation at a LeClaire massage parlor.
When customers said they’d been offered sexual favors during and after massages at KT Rose Spa on Canal Shore Driver, a special unit of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office sent in a member of their team.
During regular business hours Tuesday, the undercover customer asked for a 30-minute massage. He was asked during the massage whether he wished to engage in sex acts with the masseuse and her co-worker, police say.
The officer said Xuemei Wu – 45 – quoted him a price for sex. As a result, she and co-worker Yalan Chen – 53 – were arrested and charged with prostitution.
Chen denied giving massages, and Wu declined to speak with police. A search warrant revealed the women – from Florida and California – were living at the spa, police say.
Both bonded out of jail shortly after their arrests.
