GALESBURG, Ill. — A man was injured following a shooting in Galesburg on Saturday, July 6.
According to Galesburg police, officers responded to a reported shooting in the 000 block of South Cherry Street around 11:45 p.m. and found a man in the street with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated and remains hospitalized as of Sunday morning.
Officials said the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the victim and another individual, and there is no threat to the public.
An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending, according to a news release.
