A former Aledo police officer says he is trying to move on with his life, and is not guilty of sexually abusing a teenaged girl.
Steven Bonynge says he is now working for a trucking company after losing his job as a police officer shortly after charges were filed earlier this year.

"I have a new job now and I'm moving on. My faith and trust in not in what the court's gonna say about me. It's in Jesus Christ. I know my freedom in him is what's gonna keep me moving forward. Not what others are going to say about me," Bonynge said after a brief court hearing Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
Mercer County Judge Richard Zimmer is allowing Bonynge to travel out of state for work, while the Appellate Court reviews a state motion.
Defense attorney William Gullberg says his client is not guilty, and says he may have had a mutual relationship with the teenaged girl, but there was no sex involved.
"He had moments of personal failure, but they're not crimes," Gullberg said in a May 4th interview with WQAD.
