DAVENPORT, Iowa — Autopsy results have led police to investigate an August overdose death of a Davenport woman as a homicide.
According to a news release sent Friday, Oct. 11, Davenport police responded to a report of a possible overdose at a residence in the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue around 10 a.m. on Aug. 31, 2024.
First responders found 33-year-old Madeline Bakoylis, of Davenport, dead at the scene.
Officials received the findings of an autopsy on Thursday, Oct. 10, and say that the findings indicated that the death was a homicide.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have stated that there is no threat to public safety related to this incident. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
