DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport man is being held without bond following an attack on a family member with a croquet mallet.
James McNabb is charged with two felonies – going armed with intent and willful injury causing serious injury – among other charges.
Police say the 37-year-old got into a dispute with a family member, retrieved a wooden croquet mallet from the garage, and struck the family member in the face.
The victim sustained multiple facial fractures and a possible brain bleed, police say. He requested an order of protection.
McNabb was arrested early Wednesday and is being held in the Scott County Jail.
