Burlington man arrested after injuring 3 people in pipe and knife attack

According to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Nathan Ferguson attacked three family members with a pipe and knife.

GRANDVIEW, Iowa — A Burlington man was arrested after allegedly attacking three people with a knife and pipe.

According to the Louisa County Sheriff's Office, officers received reports of an act at 314 N Main St. in Grandview, Iowa shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12. Upon arrival, officers said they found three victims with injuries. 

Witnesses and victims said 32-year-old Nathan Ferguson forcefully entered the home and began attacking people inside with a metal rod and kitchen knife.

One male victim was hospitalized with severe stabbing injures and trauma to the head and law enforcement officials said he is still in critical condition. A female victim received blunt injuries to the head and arm but has been released from the hospital. Another male victim only received minor injuries. 

Officers said all three victims are related to Ferguson.

Ferguson fled the scene, and officers said he was later located in Burlington, where he was arrested. Ferguson was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of felony willful assault
  • Two counts of felony assault with a dangerous weapon
  • Two counts of felony intimidation with a dangerous weapon

Ferguson was transported to the Louisa County Jail and is currently being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
