Nearly three weeks after a van was run off Interstate 80 in Bettendorf, Iowa in a road rage incident, a man was charged and arrested.

It was Friday, January 22, 2016 when police say 31-year-old Matthew G. Jensen from Bettendorf ran a Ford Windstar van off I-80 near the Middle Road Exit. Jensen was driving a Ford F350 pickup and "intentionally made contact" with the Windstar and ran it off I-80, according to a statement from the City of Bettendorf.

The Windstar went into the median, hitting the safety tension cables where it eventually stopped, the statement said.  The F350 drove off, causing officers to seek help in identifying the driver.

Days later, on January 27, police said they found the driver. On Tuesday, February 9, an arrest warrant was issued for Jensen and on Saturday morning, February 13, he surrendered to police.

According to the arrest affidavit, Jensen was charged with willful injury causing bodily injury, assault while using a deadly weapon, preventing apprehension/obstructing prosecution, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Jensen was booked into the Scott County Jail on $5,00 bond. Jail records show that Jensen was held for 35 minutes before he posted bond and was released.
