An Aledo man is accused of causing more than 20 bone fractures to a four-month-old baby in Mercer County, Illinois.

Court records showed 33-year-old Justin Kidd was charged October 1, 2015 with two felony counts of aggravated battery causing bodily harm of a child under 13 years of age, and one felony count of domestic battery.

Evidence was presented at a preliminary hearing January 5, 2015, showing the charges were connected to more than 20 bone fractures suffered by a four-month-old baby boy in October and November 2015, according to WRMJ.

The baby was treated at a local hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Peoria for treatment. He was later placed in protective custody with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Court records showed Kidd has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Jail records showed Kidd remained held in the Mercer County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Kidd was next scheduled to appear in Mercer County Court on February 2.
