US Postal Service to host public meeting about future of Milan processing center

Any changes will not result in the facility's closure or layoffs, according to USPS officials.

MILAN, Ill. — The U.S. Postal Service will host a meeting collecting feedback from community members about the future of its Milan processing and distribution center.

The meeting will take place at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Camden Centre in Milan. According to a press release from USPS, the agency will be evaluating the current operations of the distribution center and opportunity for future uses as part of a nationwide $40 billion investment. Officials said that delivery to local residents shouldn't be affected by the project. In addition to that, the review process shouldn't lead to the facility's closure or layoffs of any current employees.

For those who aren't able to attend the in-person meeting, written comments can be left for the USPS here. Comments must be sent in by Feb. 21.
