Thousands of Illinoisans without power early Monday

According to MidAmerican Energy, there was a tree that had fallen on a power line. There is a crew on site making repairs.

RAPIDS CITY, Ill. — Updated Story: According to the MidAmerican Energy outage map, all outages have been resolved. 

Original Story: Some Illinoisans are waking up Monday morning without power after a tree fell on a power line at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 11th Street.

According to a MidAmerican Energy representative, the outage began around 4 a.m., and as of 5:45 a.m. is affecting 1,379 customers in the Illinois Quad Cities.

A MidAmerican crew is on-site and is making necessary repairs to the power lines. MidAmerican anticipates power to be restored to consumers at or before 6 a.m. Monday morning.
