Hilltop Campus Village asking for feedback on Davenport revitalization efforts

The organization is working to revitalize roads and attract more businesses to the area near Brady and Harrison Streets.

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Davenport non-profit is looking for public feedback on its project to revitalize the area known as Hilltop Campus Village, which is also the non-profit's namesake

Hilltop Campus Village is a commercial and residential area designed by Main Street Iowa. It's located near Brady Street and Harrison Street.

The nonprofit has been working to make the area more accessible and improve numerous roads in and near the area. One way they've already done this is by making more parking spots available on Brady Street. But now, they are asking for feedback at various public input meetings.

Executive Director Brian Kramer said the best way to continue this project is to communicate with the public to see what's working and what's not.

"One of the ways I think we're looking at doing that is finding more wayfaring," Kramer said. "So letting people know like, 'Hey, there is public parking here.' Also, creating a more pedestrian and cyclist-friendly neighborhood."

Kramer said with a project like this, there are bound to be a few bumps in the road.

"Those are those areas where it's like you move one giant step forward and then you find a lot more hurdles. Right now it's about finding ways that we can get around those hurdles," he said.

He said by attending these meetings, the organization can get a more well-rounded assortment of opinions about how they can improve the Hilltop Campus Village. You can keep up with the nonprofit and find out when the next meeting will take plac on its Facebook page
