DAVENPORT, Iowa — Family Resources will be hosting an event called "Fill The Truck" this Saturday, June 17, at various Hy-Vee stores across the Quad Cities. They will be collecting multiple essential items.
All items must be brand new and will go towards the organization's housing and sheltering services for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, homicide, trafficking and other violent crimes.
Volunteers and trucks for the events will be at the following Hy-Vee locations from 9 a.m. until noon:
- Bettendorf: Middle & Devils Glen Rd.
- Bettendorf: 53rd & Utica Ridge Rd.
- Clinton: S. 4th St.
- Davenport: Kimberly & Eastern Ave.
- Davenport: Rockingham Road
- Davenport: W. Locust & Lincoln Rd.
- Davenport: W. Kimberly & N. Pine St.
- Milan: W. 10th Avenue
- Moline: Avenue of the Cities
- Muscatine: 2nd Avenue
- Rock Island: 18th Avenue
- Silvis: 5th Street
- North Scott: LeClaire Road
Family Resources provided a wish list of items for the drive:
- Cash, gas cards, grocery gift cards
- Kitchen and bath items
- MOST NEEDED: brooms, dust pans, mops, utensils, paper towels, sponges
- Cleaning supplies
- MOST NEEDED: Clorox wipes, Lysol spray, floor cleaner, bathroom cleaner, hand and dish soap, all-purpose cleaner
- Bed and bath linens
- Baby and toddler supplies
- Toiletries
- Small home items (i.e. trash cans, dishes, utensils)
- Over-the-counter medicines

Family Resources has also recently helped the City of Davenport start a Coordinated Assessment Program to help curb juvenile crime.
