MOLINE, Ill. — One person was hospitalized after a Wednesday morning house fire in Moline.
Just before 4 a.m., firefighters responded to the 2400 block of 32nd Street to a report of a single-family home with flames and smoke coming from the back of the house. Nearby residents told crews they had smelled smoke before their arrival but were unsure if anyone was inside the home.
According to a Moline Fire Department news release, firefighters entered the home and found one person inside. Crews rescued the individual from the fire and helped them to awaiting paramedics. Paramedics treated the person with life-saving care and transported them to a local hospital.
The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes and crews remained on scene for two hours to search for remaining fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
