DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 16-year-old girl is dead after a Monday night shooting in Davenport, according to the Davenport Police Department.
Just before 10 p.m., authorities received a report of shots fired with a victim inside a residence in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue. First responders found a 16-year-old female with an apparent gunshot injury.
According to police, the teenager was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives believe this was not a random act of violence and are seeking the help of residents in gathering information.
