Travel experts predict a busy weekend for Labor Day travel

AAA says domestic air reservations are up 9% from last year.

INDIANAPOLIS — AAA is out with its Labor Day Weekend travel forecast and it's going to be a busy one.

Let's start with flights. AAA says domestic travel bookings are up 9% compared to last year. International flights are down 4%.

If you're heading to the airport, be sure to get there early and refresh yourself on the TSA rules.

If you're driving, the average price of gas in Indiana is $3.36 per gallon. The worst times to drive, according to transportation data provider INRIX, are Thursday between 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Friday between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturday between 8 p.m. and 11 a.m.

And here's a fun fact: According to AAA booking data, Alaska cruises are sold out for the weekend.
