Previous Story:

Most small businesses are stocking up in the holiday season, but one business in downtown Moline is closing up after a truck crashed into the store.

"I got a lot of customers expecting to come today and tomorrow, and now I don't know," Carmen Fuentes, owner of Carmen's Jewelry, said. "I don't know what I need to do."

According to Moline Police, the crash occurred at 1:48 a.m. There were three people in the truck at the time of the crash, two of them fleeing the scene on foot. Prior to the crash, the small truck was seen driving recklessly. None of the suspects have yet been apprehended by police.

For Fuentes, the incident puts a damper on the holidays.

"I don't know when I'll reopen again, I don't know," Fuentes said. "It's kind of sad for me because I've spent 30 years in this business, and I love my community."

If anyone has any information related to the crash or the suspects they are encouraged to contact Moline Police or Quad Cities Crime Stoppers.
