Milltown Coffee opens new Bettendorf location despite delay from virus

The owner says the opening was pushed back more than a month but it now ready moving forward.

BETTENDORF, Iowa — There's a new spot to get your morning pick-me-up in Bettendorf. On Monday, May 18, Milltown Coffee opened its second location on Utica Ridge Road, right across Spruce Hills Drive from Old Chicago.

News 8 spoke with the owner live on Good Morning Quad Cities about making this project a reality, even among the coronavirus pandemic.

"It's just nice to see people honestly," Cameron Cartee says. "We've been working on this since February with no one here. We're waiting to get some signs up so that'll get people in here as well. We've had some regulars come in from our Moline location to check it out as well. It's been great."

Right now, the Moline location is pick-up only while the new spot is drive-thru only. Cartee says business has been slow over in Illinois.

"We're just doing call-in orders over there," Cartee says. "Hopefully this next order doesn't get extended. So we can start allowing some people to come to see those awesome views we have at the Moline location. but until then we're working with it. Everyone's hurting. Can't complain too much."

The Bettendorf location is at open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.

The Moline location is at 3800 River Drive, open from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sundays
