BETTENDORF, Iowa — A new favorite among Quad City food lovers has shut down after over two years of service in Bettendorf.
FoodAffair Bistro posted on Facebook that it has shut down due to several factors. The restaurant commented on the post that the closure is immediate.
The bistro faced many adversities from the start. Construction began in the spring of 2020 just as the COVID-19 pandemic turned the entire world upside down.
"We carried on despite our anxiety and the obvious difficulties," the letter says. "With determination, we opened our doors in December 2020."
COVID aftermath, staffing shortages and rising costs have been "incredibly hard challenges to overcome" for FoodAffair and many other restaurants recently.
"And then, February 2023, we were delivered a gut punch from within," FoodAffair's post says. "Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to find a way to continue."
And just like that, the restaurant said its goodbyes.
"In the brief existence of this beautiful restaurant, it has been our pleasure to be part of serving this wonderful community," the restaurant's post says. "We will absolutely miss seeing so many happy faces and sharing memories with you at FAB. We thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for giving us the privilege of being a part of your lives."
