BETTENDORF, Iowa — Schnucks in Bettendorf is closing its doors in August.
The grocery store at 858 Middle Road will permanently close at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16. The store, Schnucks CEO Todd Schnuck said in statement, "has simply not been profitable."
The store opened in May 2005 and currently has 80 employees. Employees will have the option to transfer to another Schnucks location or receive a severance package, the company said in the statement.
“While this was not a decision we made lightly, we know our teammates’ contributions – as individuals and as a team – will be long remembered among their loyal Schnucks customers in the area," Schnuck said in the statement.
