DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Quad Cities Chamber announced its new president and CEO, Peter Tokar III, who will start in mid-January.
Tokar has more than 17 years of experience in economic development organizations and municipalities.
Tokar has worked on a variety of projects domestically and internationally, including mixed-use developments, office buildings, manufacturing and redevelopment. In economic development organizations, he used strategy and marketing initiatives to bring life to communities.
Other programs Tokar has worked on include the creation of economic development teams, local business assistance, start-up and entrepreneur support, youth coding programs, community support and creative industry support.
Most recently, Tokar was president and CEO of McKinney Economic Development Corporation, an economic development company focused on McKinney, Texas. He's also held director of economic and business development roles in Alpharetta, Georgia; Davie, Florida and Miramar, Florida.
"I am excited and honored to be chosen to lead the Quad Cities Chamber," Tokar said in a press release. "Each interaction I have had with the Board, staff and community partners has only further reinforced the quality of the organization and dedication they have to making the QC region a success."
