Quad Cities native Colby Lopez, AKA Seth Rollins, is the new heavyweight champion after Wrestlemania 31.
Rollins’ win was a surprise, the WWE reported, as he “made his move, cashing in his Money in the Bank contract in historical fashion.”
“After a grueling WrestleMania main event between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Roman Reigns, it was Seth Rollins who left The Show of Shows with WWE’s top crown,” the WWE reported.
After the match, Rollins said he saw the opportunity for a championship unfold.
“You’ve got to capitalize, strike while the iron is hot,” Rollins said. “I knew there would be an opportunity for me, if I picked the right spot, who knows what could happen?”
Rollins will defend the title at WrestleMania 32, set for April 3, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.
